Guardian Newspaper 2016 University Rankings Released

29 May 2015

The 2016 Guardian University Rankings were released this week as the University of Cambridge held onto its place at the top of the table. It was Coventry University who were the big winners though as they rose to 15th in the rankings, the highest ever position for a post-1992 university.

The Guardian’s league tables rank universities according to: spending per student; the student/staff ratio; graduate career prospects; what grades applicants need to get a place; a value-added score that compares students’ entry qualifications with their final degree results; and how satisfied final-year students are with their courses, based on results from the annual National Student Survey.

Other winners included University of Sussex and Falmouth University, who both made substantial leaps up the table, while University of Surrey moved into the top five overall following the publication of impressive employment figures.
