|Scholarship Name||Lord Kelvin Adam Smith (LKAS) PhD Scholarships|
|Scholarship Deadline||11 January 2019|
The Lord Kelvin Adam Smith (LKAS) PhD Scholarships are the University of Glasgow’s flagship scholarships. To date over 100 fully funded PhD projects have been created.
The LKAS PhD Scholarships offer the opportunity for outstanding research students to participate in some of the most exciting areas of research carried out at the University. Of these, 8 scholarships are generally awarded, based on the excellence of both the project and the selected candidate.
The scholarships are open to all students regardless of nationality or residency status. Applicants will ideally hold a First Class undergraduate degree and postgraduate Masters degree awarded with Merit or Distinction and will have a blend of skills and experience to fit the individual project requirements.
Each scholarship will run for up to 4 years and will provide the successful students with an annual stipend with a 15% uplift an UKRI advertised rates, as well as access to an annual research consumables budget of £3000.
