The Rhiannon Evans Poetry Award recognises and celebrates students who display promise as creative writers.

You should be able to demonstrate that you have the potential for further development in your writing and also be able to outline how a £500 Rhiannon Evans Poetry Award would benefit and support your future writing career.

We will also take the demonstration of promise in the face of adversity into consideration, where you have demonstrated promise and talent in creative writing and had to overcome exceptional circumstances.

Eligibility

Any student who is currently enrolled on a full-time programme at Edge Hill is eligible to be considered for this award in academic year 2019/20 (excluding permanent employees of the University, repeat year students and Erasmus students).

The poems you submit must be previously unpublished.

How do I apply?

To be considered for a Rhiannon Evans Poetry Award, you need to complete and submit our Rhiannon Evans Poetry Award application form.

The Rhiannon Evans Poetry Award application form will be available to download from this page when applications open in February 2020.

Applications will be shortlisted by the Department for English and History, with shortlisted applications subsequently judged by a scholarship selection panel. Please note, any work submitted as part of your application will not be returned.
