  1. Students must be undertaking a full time course at City on 1st December 2019 to be eligible to receive The Lord Mayor of London Scholarship of Academic Excellence.
  2. Students must be new entrants to Higher Education i.e. have not previously studied all or any part of an Undergraduate degree either in the UK or elsewhere.
  3. Students must choose City, University of London as their Firm choice through UCAS at initial decision stage or be placed through Clearing at City, University of London.
  4. Only students paying the full UK/EU tuition fee, as set by the UK government, are eligible for an award.
  5. Students must be commencing the first year of their degree as a new student i.e. those commencing in Year 2 or 3 will not be eligible.
  6. Scholarships are only awarded in Year 1. Year 0 students progressing to Year 1 will not be eligible.
  7. The Scholarship is available to all undergraduate students assessed as 'Home/EU' by City, University of London who meet the eligibility requirements.
  8. Students assessed as 'Overseas' by City, University of London and are liable for the 'international' fee are not eligible.
  9. Students who restart a degree will not be eligible.
  10. Students are required to register for the scholarship by 30th September 2019. Students who do not complete the application process by this deadline will not be eligible.
  11. The required qualifications at 'A' level are AAA or above. 'A' levels must have been obtained from an official UK board. General Studies, Critical Thinking and Citizenship Studies 'A' levels are excluded. Two 'A' levels taken in the same subject will not count twice. Modular 'A' levels must have been cashed-in, certified and proven by 15th November 2019. Grades will be taken as stated on a student's certificate.
  12. Scholarships are awarded using the strict eligibility grid. Other qualifications and grades are only considered at the discretion of City, University of London. All qualifications are subject to confirmation by 15th November 2019.
  13. Students may be requested to provide additional information in order to confirm their eligibility for a Scholarship. Any additional information requested must be provided to City by 15th November 2019 in order for a student to be considered for a scholarship.
  14. Students who withdraw from City before completion of their studies for the first academic year will be liable to repay to City the full amount received.
  15. City, University of London reserves the right to make changes to the terms and conditions of The Lord Mayor of London Scholarship for Academic Excellence and these will appear on our website.
  16. Students awarded the Scholarship will be required to provide their bank details by 15th January 2020.
  17. Scholarships are in the gift of the university and we can exclude an applicant at our discretion.

Where a combination of BTEC (QCF) Diploma, BTEC (QCF) Subsidiary Diploma and A levels are presented, the best three results will be taken.

Combinations of the BTEC and Cambridge Technical (CTEC) qualifications not included above will be considered at the discretion of the university.

Applicants with the full Cambridge PreU (2-3 Principal Subjects plus Global Perspectives and/or Short Course) will be considered on an individual basis.

The value of the Lord Mayor of London Scholarships for Academic Excellence in 2019/20 will be £2,000 for all programmes (except those in Computer Science) and will be paid during the first year of study.

Computer Science programmes

Applicants to Computer Science, Computer Science with Cyber Security, Computer Science with Games Technology who achieve AAA (or a grade mix equivalent to AAA) at ‘A’ level will receive £2,000 and if one of their ‘A’ levels is a grade B or higher in either Mathematics or Computing/Computer Science, they will receive an additional £1,000.

Applicants to the above courses who achieve D*DD and above at BTEC (QCF) Extended Diploma level will receive £1,000.
